Sam was born and raised in Gillette, WY and played hockey from Termites through High School. After attending school in Vancouver, BC, he transferred to Montana State University and played for the ACHA D2 hockey team for three years. Sam graduated with a degree in Geographic Information Systems/Planning in the Spring of 2021.In 2018 Sam began volunteering at the rink by coaching skills clinics, youth teams, and adults. He is currently the Head Coach of the Montana State Women's Team and an assistant coach with the Men's team. In his free time Sam enjoys playing golf and hunting.
