Cap Campaign Banner

For over 40 years, Bozeman's ice community has been working on building a world-class arena located in the heart of town.

The Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association (BAHA) was formed in 1983, and Gallatin Ice was created as it's fundraising arm in 2006. Since then, we have been hard at work building the four-season, two-rink facility you are familiar with today - campaign by campaign and piece by piece. In 2017 we completed our facility's second rink, "The Ice Barn" and in 2021, air handling and insulation were added to allow for summer ice.

Now, our capstone project is finally here. The Finish the Ice Barn: West Side campaign is a $8.1 million project to finish creating the ice arena that our athletes, fans, and community need and deserve.

PROJECT PHASES

Phase 1 of the Finish the Ice Barn campaign was completed earlier in 2025 and added new seating on the east side of the arena, as well as a jumbotron to the north wall. Phase 3, still to come, will include a new central entry and expanded concessions area.

The critical 2026 renovation to the west side of the facility marks Phase 2 of the campaign. Once complete, at the end of 2026, the "Ice Barn" will be renamed the Bottcher Families Community Ice Center and will have:

*Seating to accommodate up to 1,500 fans
*A restaurant & pub, Blue Line Club, on the 2nd floor mezzanine with a viewing balcony
*Expanded restrooms throughout the facility
*An Executive Suite (Founders Club) offering exclusive, enclosed seating and dedicated food & beverage service for members
*New locker rooms for MSU Men’s and Women’s Hockey and the Bozeman Icedogs
*A new mezzanine and broadcast booth for announcing and media coverage

A portion of the total project—$1.5 million—will be funded through public donations and the seat naming rights available for purchase here.

FAQs

When will construction begin?
We have broken ground as of early January, relocating the broadcast booth and digging a pit for the elevator to the mezzanine. Heavy construction will begin in April.

Will there be summer ice this year?
No. The rink will be closed from April 19, 2026 until Labor Day Weekend. We know it's inconvenient, but a rink closure is required for the heavy construction period. Your hockey and skating directors will have alternative recommendations for summer ice and camps.

When will Phase 2 be complete?
Heavy construction will end with the start of the season in September 2026 with finishing work continuing until December 2026.

When does Phase 3 start?
We are hopeful we can roll into Phase 3 in 2027.

I purchased seat naming rights. Is this considered a tax-deductible donation?
Yes! Get in touch with us after you purchase your seats and will we send a tax receipt.

How do I name my seat?
We will reach out to purchasers in the summer to gather text for the plaques. There will be a 25 character limit.

I want to contribute, but I don't see an option here that seems like a fit.
