Katie grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota, with an ice rink in her backyard, built each year by her dad. She learned to skate there as soon as she could walk. Close by was the Bloomington Ice Garden, where she later joined the Figure Skating Club and started competing and participating in annual ice shows. Katie also grew up skiing and ski racing at Hyland Hills.Â
She moved to Montana to attend Montana State University and recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. During her time in Bozeman, she joined the MSU Figure Skating Club. She served as treasurer for the club and has participated in multiple competitions, test sessions, and gameday performances. Katie has also worked at the rink in many locations; you may have seen her in concessions, the ticket booth, or on the Zamboni. Outside of the rink, Katie spends her time skiing, camping, and fishing.Â
