First to volunteer and last to go home, Mike has been associated with BAHA for more than 25 years. Like many BAHA volunteers, he got involved because his son Cody played hockey. Mike was immediately committed to the cause, offering construction expertise and on-site labor to build the foundation of the Haynes Pavilion. He was one of the first two certified BAHA referees and being the only two in the association, they officiated every youth game in the 1992-93 season. Mike learned to drive the Zamboni early on and only after countless hours of volunteer service became one of the first few paid employees at BAHA, driving every Saturday and Sunday morning for almost 10 seasons. When he wasn’t resurfacing the ice, you would find Mike purposefully wielding a wrench, mop, ladder or drywall tools during every minute of his weekend shift.
